The main difference between UHF and VHF lies in the wavelength and the ability to penetrate obstacles. UHF (400-470 MHz) has short waves that are ideal for penetrating reinforced concrete and metal indoors. VHF (136-174 MHz) offers longer waves that travel greater distances in open outdoor areas.
